Stormy weather …

The Blizzard of 2011 has been THE news for the last several days; whether or not it lives up to its advance billing remains to be seen, but at least it sounds like a lot of folks have taken it seriously and prepared to hunker down for a while. I feel sorry for the TV reporters who have had to go out and stand in the wind, sleet and snow to give all the reports they’ve been running all day and all night!

So far we’ve had some ice, but fortunately most of it has come down already frozen, so maybe that will lessen the tree damage and power outages.

The birds have been emptying the feeders pretty quickly. The heated water dish is always a big attraction, a big reason why, yes, that IS a bluebird in the header! I think they and a lot of robins hang out the the cedar trees during the winter and show up for water when most everything else is frozen over.

  1. Stay warm, Joy! Pretty photos, your camera battery must stay warm at least! 😀

  2. Chicadee, junkos, cardinal. So so pretty. I have never seen a bluebird in person. WOW!

  3. Looks like it’s pretty much over here. Not much ice, plenty of snow and the plows still haven’t come through so it’s another stay at home day for me. Pretty outside but cold.
