Knitting, spinning, pets, food and other thoughts

Last Friday I went to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for the first time for the funeral of a longtime friend’s father, who was a veteran of WWII – the rows and rows of headstones are beautiful and at the same time overwhelming. The flag ceremony, salute and Taps were very impressive.

Rest in peace Mr. J.

  1. So sad that we still fight and lose our young men. At least your friend’s father lived a long life. Still, those are poignant pictures.

  2. Taps was played at my father’s burial. It was impressive and overwhelming at the same time. It was good for the family and the volunteers that perform the ceremony have my gratitude, always.

  3. I love taps. It always… ALWAYS … brings tears to my eyes. And I’ve never been to a military funeral.
