Along the river

There’s a state park  just a short drive north of us that’s on the Big River. We’ve enjoyed it for years, in fact it was a great outing with our kids at times when we couldn’t afford to take them anywhere else. A short drive and a picnic lunch was always lots of fun. Now we’re going there with our grandkids, because it’s a neat place, and because it’s something we did with their parents 🙂

One daughter & her family (2 adults, 3 kids + 2 standard poodles!) are here in the brief break between school and summer school, so we went up for a little while yesterday, played in the river and watched the sky. It’s hard to believe the kids are getting this big!

ETA: I’m glad we went up when we did, since it rained for most of the rest of their visit and we didn’t get another chance.
