Birds, bees, a butterfly and a buckeye

My red buckeye is simply covered with flowers right now, and it’s a very popular hangout – here are some of its visitors, plus a couple more who hang out on the seed feeders.

I tried to get a photo of the female rose-breasted grosbeak too, but she was only showing me her back.

The weather was pretty rowdy last night and this morning, and Toby wasn’t at all happy about the thunder—talk about velcro-dog! All the worst stuff missed us, and it turned into a lovely afternoon.

  1. Your red buckeye is lovely. I don’t think I’ve seen it growing up here. We have rain this evening but fortunately it is the calm kind or the cats would be frantic. I’m glad you had a lovely afternoon.

  2. I haven’t ever ever seen a red buckeye or a Rose-breasted grosbeak or an Indigo bunting. You are such a lucky duck!!!
