Knitting, spinning, pets, food and other thoughts

I finished plying the other evening and skeined the yarn, which came out to about 387 yds/3.8 oz (105gr). I loved the fiber (superwash merino—so soft!), am mostly satisfied with my spinning, slightly less so with my plying. Darn, I guess I’ll have to practice some more 😉 So far, no idea what it’s going to be when it grows up.

Another sign of spring—this evening while Toby & I were out for our walk, I heard the first chuck-will’s-widow of the season. We also have whip-poor-wills here, so starting around dusk, we hear both of them a lot, but they rarely show themselves.

  1. That is beautiful, Joy!! I don’t believe we have chuck-will’s-widows here in the burbs. I do know we have bats. We saw them in the darkness this weekend. Way cool.

  2. *giggle* You do the artistic shot too? I’m trying to convince myself that it’s ok to spend a gazillion dollars on one of those SLRs. I used to do 35 mm photography and have pictures everywhere. Anyway… babble over. 😀 Happy Monday

  3. Looks great! 🙂 🙂 🙂
