Yesterday morning was particularly beautiful – everything was spangled with dew, including this spider web I found. There was a small spider down deep in it, but it wouldn’t come out for a photo op! Toby really took off running loops – I’m surprised I managed to get him in focus at all!
Sunday was the Fete de L’Automne, put on by the Historical Society. This area was settled by the French in the early 1700’s (St. Joachim Parish records go back to 1723). It was another beautiful day, with music, crafts and food – sausages, chicken & dumplings and croquignole (approximate pronunciation is crox-ee-ole), which is a strip of dough that’s slit, the end put through the slit so it’s twisted, then deep fried and sugared – very naughty, but yum!
I started another sock the other day (3rd 4th photo down in the Flickr box) and it’s down to the heel now. I like the feel of the Trekking!
The new dishwasher finally came today! It’s in the house, but still in the process of getting hooked up. Of course it would be too easy if everything were in the same place as on the old one, so there’s some engineering going on, but at least it’s here 🙂
