seems to be my computer chair. Look who I found when I came in to use the computer the other day 😉
This time, it was Amber, but Maggie likes it too. Amber has also been supervising my work by inspecting the current box of projects waiting to be edited. You can see why I have to keep boxes and things safely closed up around here!
Today I took a day off from all this – a couple of high school friends and I went to a Friday morning Coffee Concert (free coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts!) by the St. Louis Symphony, which is always a treat, even without doughnuts. In spite of a ridiculously early start, part of living out in the boonies, we had a good time. The traffic was much better than expected, and the music was wonderful; Smetana’s The Moldau, one of my favorites, plus Ravel, Schumann and Bartok. Even with a good hi fi, there’s nothing quite like being there and not only hearing the music, but feeling the vibrations – sigh … lunch afterwards and good company – just a nice day!
Knitting progress – the knitting is done on the purple Galway project, I just have to put it together, tweak the instructions, and send it off, well ahead of the deadline for a change. More on this later. The sock is progressing, though not terribly fast and the Malabrigo Lace has grown to 6 repeats [Sat update: 9 reps] – I think its name will be Moth Wings, as the shape reminds me of the wings of a sphinx moth at rest.
More rain yesterday – we got 2.5+” overnight, and the rivers are rising again, which isn’t welcome news to folks who have already had a rough spring. Now it’s getting colder and the s* word is in the forecast again, though I’m sure the ground is too warm for it to stick. I just hope it doesn’t get cold enough to freeze everything again!
