Signs of spring!

I woke up much too early and tried unsuccessfully to turn over and go back to sleep, before I gave up and decided to get on with the day. Still, if I’d gone back to sleep, I would have missed this:

Just as well I was up early, as it’s since clouded over and gone back to gloomy.

I can’t yet match the blooming flowers I’ve seen on several blogs, but there are a few signs of spring, like these daffodil tips, and I’ll be watching for the snow crocus and the little clump of snowdrops that come back every year.

More of a hope for summer than a sign of spring, the new raised garden spot last summer doesn’t look like much now. We’ve also discovered that some contouring will be needed by the corner nearest the house, as whenever we get any actual precipitation, we also get a huge mud puddle there – not nice! Still, it’s a step forward, and I’m looking forward to getting the fence put up and things planted in it. garden-to-be.jpg
